SOUVENIRS OF FRIENDSHIP
Our paths so long together twined
Must now go differently,
And you, my friend, will soon depart
To move away from me
The souvenirs of friendship
That I keep within my heart
Will serve to join us still as friends
Through we may be apart.
These souvenirs are treasures rare -
A sprightly gay hello,
A simple chat, a quiet walk,
A wave across the way.
These souvenirs will be with me
To strengthen and to cheer,
To let me know that we are friends,
Although we are not near.
